Bill completed work orders
Turn completed work orders into MetriSales invoices, one per job or one per customer for a selection, with labour, parts and contract cover, ready for MyInvois.
For: Billing staff and administratorsSteps
- In MetriField → Settings, under Billing, choose a labour product (its price lists and SST apply) or an hourly rate, how labour time is rounded up, and what a contract in force covers: labour, parts or both.
- Open a completed work order and, under Billing, select Bill. The dialog shows the invoice lines: labour from check-in to check-out (change the minutes if you need to), the parts used at the customer's price-list prices, and non-stock parts at zero for you to price.
- If a contract in force covers the work order (its own contract, its entitlement's or its asset's), the covered lines are included at no charge with the contract's number.
- Choose the invoice language and select Create invoice. A draft invoice is created in MetriSales and the work order shows Billed on with the invoice number.
- To bill several at once, open Work orders → Ready to bill, tick the work orders and select Bill selected. You get one invoice per customer.
- Open the invoice in MetriSales to check it and send it. When it is ready, submit it to MyInvois from the invoice, as for any other invoice.
Good to know
- A work order is billed once, however often Bill is pressed. To bill it again, void the invoice in MetriSales: the work order goes back to Ready to bill.
- Invoices are never submitted to MyInvois automatically.
- Billing needs the MetriSales invoice permission (create invoices) as well as access to the work order.
- The invoice lists the work orders it came from under Links.
