Use the AI scheduling assistant

Let MetriField propose the day's assignments, review the changes and approve them; optionally auto-dispatch low-risk jobs.

For: Dispatchers and administrators

Steps

  1. 1On the dispatch board, pick the day and select Suggest schedule.
  2. 2The scheduling rules place every unassigned work order they can: a technician with all required skills, inside their working hours and the customer's window, not on a public holiday, in SLA order and with the least straight-line travel between saved coordinates. Jobs that cannot be placed are listed with the reason.
  3. 3The AI ranks the proposals and writes a short summary for you. It sees only job and technician references, skills, times and rounded coordinates — never customer names, addresses or notes. If AI is unavailable the plan still appears without the summary.
  4. 4Review each row: who and when now, who and when proposed, travel time and checks. Select Approve or Reject per row, or Approve all. Approving assigns and schedules the work order exactly as doing it by hand, and is recorded in the audit log.
  5. 5Optional: in Dispatch settings an administrator can turn on Auto-dispatch for low-risk jobs (low or medium priority), with a limit per hour. Only jobs whose plan has no conflict at all are dispatched automatically; everything else waits for you.

Good to know

  • A row fails as changed if somebody assigned or rescheduled the work order after the proposal — suggest again for a fresh plan.
  • A new suggestion for the same day replaces the open one.
  • High and urgent work orders are never auto-dispatched.
  • Turning auto-dispatch on or off is recorded in the audit log, and so is every job it dispatches.
