Record assets and service locations

Keep customer equipment with its warranty and history, at addresses your technicians can find.

For: Service coordinators and admins

Steps

  1. 1Go to MetriField → Service locations and select New location. Give it a name, the customer, the address with its postcode, city and Malaysian state, and access notes for the technician (gate code, parking, who has the key).
  2. 2Optionally type in the latitude and longitude (for example from your maps app). Finding coordinates from the address is coming soon.
  3. 3Go to MetriField → Assets and select New asset. Enter the name, serial number, model and manufacturer, choose the customer and the service location, and the install date.
  4. 4Choose the contract that covers the asset, if any. Leave the warranty dates empty to use the contract's term, or enter them.
  5. 5Open an asset to see its warranty, contract coverage and SLA, maintenance plans, work orders and service history. Add a note to the history at any time.

Good to know

  • Filter assets by warranty to find units whose warranty ends within 30 days.
  • Admins can add custom fields to assets in Settings → Custom fields → Assets.
  • An asset or location still used by an open work order cannot be moved to the trash.
  • Search finds assets by name or serial number.
