Subscriptions and recurring billing

Bill your customers every month, quarter or year with MetriSales invoices, pay-online links and MRR reporting.

For: Sales reps and finance

Steps

  1. 1Go to Sales → Subscriptions → New subscription (or Start subscription on a contract). Choose the customer, billing contact, interval, billing day, start date and the lines billed each period.
  2. 2A start date off the billing day bills a prorated first period up to it. Each period then becomes a MetriSales invoice — raised once, issued and, with Email each invoice on, sent with its PDF and pay-online link.
  3. 3To submit each invoice to MyInvois when it is raised, tick the MyInvois box under Billing (you need permission to submit e-invoices; it is recorded as your standing instruction).
  4. 4Change the lines under Lines billed each period. Increases apply now and the rest of the invoiced period is added to the next invoice; decreases start from the next period.
  5. 5Pause, Resume or Cancel under Billing. Raise due invoice now runs the same billing as the daily job and never raises a period twice. Billing schedule shows the next periods and amounts.
  6. 6Unpaid invoices get reminders on the dunning days in Settings → Sales, and the subscription shows Past due until it is paid. The list page shows MRR, ARR, net new MRR, churn and the 12-month trend.

Good to know

  • Customers pay through your own Billplz or Stripe account from the invoice link.
  • Choose in Settings → Sales whether a subscription is paused or cancelled after the last dunning day.
