Connect a mailbox

Link support@ or sales@ so customer email arrives in MetriCRM and replies go out from your own address.

For: Admins

Steps

  1. 1Go to Settings → Mailboxes and select Add mailbox.
  2. 2Enter a name and the email address, then choose the module and default team.
  3. 3Under Sending (SMTP), enter the server, port 587 with STARTTLS (or 465 with SSL/TLS), username and password.
  4. 4Under Receiving (IMAP), enter the server, port 993 with SSL/TLS and the folders to watch (usually INBOX).
  5. 5Choose Import existing mail. “Only new mail (from now)” is recommended for the first connection.
  6. 6Choose what happens after import: by default mail moves to the “MetriCRM-Imported” folder. MetriCRM never deletes mail.
  7. 7Save, then select Test sending and Test receiving. Both should show Connected.

Good to know

  • Some providers (Gmail, Microsoft 365) need an app password instead of your normal password.
  • New mail is checked automatically every few minutes; use Sync now in the inbox to check immediately.
  • Set the mailbox module to MetriSales to turn every new email into a lead, or to MetriCare to turn it into a case.
