Build an AI agent in Agent Studio

Create an AI agent from a template and set its role, languages, greeting, instructions, topics and knowledge.

For: Admins

Steps

  1. 1Open MetriAgent → Agents and select New agent. Pick a template — Customer Service, Order Status, Lead Qualification, Appointment Booking, Collections Reminder, Knowledge Gap or Case Triage — or start from scratch, give the agent a name and select Create agent.
  2. 2On Instructions, set the role, persona and tone, choose who it talks to (customers or your team) and the languages it may use. Write a greeting in each language.
  3. 3Write the instructions in plain language: what the agent should do, what it must never do and when to hand over. The template's rules — answer only from your knowledge, never invent prices or dates, sensitive actions need a person — are a good start.
  4. 4Under Handover rules, choose what happens when a question is outside its topics or the customer is unhappy, after how many messages it offers a person, and which team takes over.
  5. 5On Topics, list the kinds of requests the agent handles, each with a short description.
  6. 6On Knowledge, choose the knowledge base and your uploaded documents. Customer-facing agents only use knowledge visible to everyone.
  7. 7Select Save draft. Your changes stay in the draft until you publish a version.

Good to know

  • Templates are copied: editing an agent never changes the template or other agents.
  • Agent Studio is ready for building and testing. Connecting published agents to web chat, email and the portal is coming soon.
