Track website visits with consent

Add the tracking script to your website, ask for consent, and see which pages identified contacts read.

For: Workspace administrators and marketing managers

Steps

  1. 1Go to MetriReach → Web tracking, tick Track my website and list your website domains (for example example.com or *.example.com).
  2. 2Keep Show the MetriCRM consent banner on, or turn it off and call metricrm('consent', true) from your website's own cookie banner when a visitor agrees.
  3. 3Add your website's privacy policy link and update that policy to describe this tracking. Set the high-intent pages (such as /pricing) and how many days to keep visit data.
  4. 4Select Save settings, then paste the tracking script just before the closing body tag on every page of your website.
  5. 5Visitors are identified when they submit one of your MetriReach forms or open a tracked link in your email broadcasts. Their visits then appear under Recent visitors and in segments.

Good to know

  • Nothing is stored before consent: no cookie and no identifier. Browsers with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are never tracked, and bots are ignored.
  • Only the page path, title, referring site and utm tags are kept, never the rest of the web address.
  • Visit data is included when you export a contact's data for a data subject request, and erased when you complete a deletion request.
  • Visits to high-intent pages are used in AI lead scoring and by the prospecting agent.
